More About Plethora
Caring. Professional. Reliable.
With a PhD you can generate new theory and conduct pure science within the pursuit of an academic life. With an applied doctorate degree you can advance knowledge within a complex, global practice context while challenging yourself professionally. Some people, especially some young people, need help identifying any issues and need someone to help them move in the direction of solving any issues. Thus, PhD/Doctorate are great, but LExp (Life Experiences), when it comes to helping young people, is definitely better!!!
WHY US?
Plethora, LLC was founded in 2014 by Floria Smith, a Motivational ‘Listener’, who has a passion to bridge the gaps between youth and families through social and emotional learning strategies. While working with actors/actresses her Social and Emotional Intelligence was sparked. Thus, she gained popularity amongst the entertainment and education communities as well. Today, Plethora, LLC is striving to build a network of partnerships with private and public businesses, major corporations, private and public schools, nonprofits, government agencies, foster care agencies, faith-based communities and individual families. Plethora, LLC can definitely evaluate and enhance any existing program or offer something new and beneficial to young people. Reshaping the brokenness in families and helping youth become better stewards of their communities is Plethora’s goal.
- We have Real Talk about the “genes” we inherited and the effect of “influence”.
- We have discussions about the TRUE cause of “sibling rivalry”.
- We’re a liaison between children, families and therapists.
- We encourage young people to open up and communicate their emotional needs and social insecurities.
- We help families overcome racial, communication and bias issues.
- We teach individuals how to be effective, supportive and engaging models who take responsibility for their choices.
- We introduce young people to Financial Literacy and best practices for managing their money.
- Workers of different cultures and backgrounds will benefit from our services which will be helpful in being mindful of the words they use to communicate with each other and to build empathy amongst one another.
WHAT WE DO
Social-emotional learning (SEL) is the process of developing self-awareness, self-control and interpersonal skills that are vital for school, work and life success. Plethora, LLC takes a holistic approach that focuses on creating a developmentally appropriate learning setting for youth and families; develop strategies that focus on forging positive relationships; building self-confidence; developing soft skills; cultivating trustworthiness and creating safe spaces.
Social-emotional learning is not new, and it has a well-established track record of helping youth to be more confident, happier and better learners. SEL is built on a foundation of five core competencies and related skills:
- Self-awareness, which means understanding your emotions and how they affect your behavior.
- Self-management, the ability to regulate your emotions and behavior as you work towards your goals.
- Responsible decision making, including taking ownership of both positive and negative results of those decisions.
- Special awareness or empathizing with others.
- Relationship skills, such as communicating clearly, listening and cooperating.
Plethora, LLC’s unique value proposition is our passion, approach and relatability to all those who engage with our team and participate in our 2-4 hour workshops which are purposely designed to be delivered in a setting where participants can feel safe and comfortable sharing and engaging.
"Wanna testimonial..."
Mrs. Smith is a force you CANNOT afford to NOT to mess with. She has first-hand experience and extends these skills to her pupils and parents alike. Being a friend of her son, since his early acting years and age, and watching Mrs. Smith bring up her son Arjay through a very competitive and rough entertainment industry, she did so in such a way that was graceful, spiritual, and was ever so much a beneficial presence on her son’s film and television sets… And that is how I got to know Floria, and her son, the lead actor on The Journey Of Allen Strange. Just like it’s not enough to just take your kid to school and occasionally help with homework… especially when most of us can’t remember half of what we learned, it is just as much not enough to just take your kid to an acting gig and just let them do their thing while you, the set-parent, shows up because you have to.
Proper and snipper approached parenting was not an option for Mrs. Smith on set. She was coined the nickname “Mom-ager,” and exceeded the bar as such, as that was 100% necessary and was witnessed first-hand by me and the set crew, yet done more delicately from her motherly heart, rather than from just a controlling and dead-end parenting point of view. Arjay is a true testimony of this… as the unparalleled adult man she raised, so with this experience what she brings is unparalleled motivational coaching, which makes her the idealistic motivational coach you could ever invest in. She has been such an inspiration for me too, watching her raise her son, and eventually becoming friends of her and her son in the process.
Mrs. Smith now extends all her experience to you and/or your loved ones through Plethora. Raise your confidence, and build a foundation that will help you and/or your loved ones succeed. A session with Mrs. Floria Smith is of unparalleled value for the outcome(s) you want to achieve.
